Reading tarot cards was never something I’d considered—until I was gifted a deck. I marveled at the imagery but scoffed at the idea of “fortune telling.” Still, I kept the deck. It sat quietly on my shelf among my books, rocks, and trinkets.

A year or so later, stuck in a writing block during college, I found myself further procrastinating by dusting my bookshelf when the deck practically fell into my hands. I started using the cards as writing prompts. At the time, I was studying Joseph Campbell, which led me to Carl Jung—and suddenly, it all clicked. The connection between tarot, archetype, and storytelling was immediate, and I fell in love with these beautiful collections of symbol and archetype.

After graduation, I moved to Oregon. I wrote freelance and spent my free time soaking in hot springs, wandering the forest, and studying tarot, herbs, and the metaphysical. A couple of years later, I offered my first readings at the Canyonville Farmers Market—and I haven’t looked back since.

Nine years later, I’m still reading. Now based in Omaha, NE, you’ll find me popping up in local bars, markets, and shops. I grace parties and private events, and offer virtual readings as well.

I don’t know how I went from scoffing to not being able to imagine my future without tarot. It’s a practice I value deeply—one I love to share. Life is tricky, and the cards help us navigate a landscape for which we have no map. They affirm what we waffle on, shine light on what we’ve been avoiding, and guide us past ego and noise—back home to ourselves.

So reach out. Let’s see what’s in your cards.
